Coffee & Bars

Barista and bar courses with a verifiable certificate

Cafés and bars are fast, social places to work, and they often hire beginners. A barista needs to understand espresso and milk, a bartender needs to serve quickly and responsibly, and everyone behind the counter needs hygiene, cash handling and teamwork.

Our coffee and bar courses cover the practical basics: setting up the counter, pulling a balanced espresso, texturing milk, building drinks to the recipe, cleaning the equipment, checking ID and serving alcohol responsibly, handling payments and controlling stock. Questions about coffee and bar training

All questions

Yes. Many cafés hire beginners and train them on their own equipment. Knowing the basics — espresso extraction, milk texturing, the main drinks and cleaning routines — helps you learn faster and do well in a trial.

The course is online: it explains the routines and the reasons behind good coffee and service, such as why a shot runs fast or how milk should look. You build the hands-on skill at work, on your venue's machine, and the course helps you understand what you are doing and why.

It depends on where you work. Some countries and regions require a minimum age, a responsible alcohol service permit or both before you can serve alcohol. Check the rules where you plan to work; your employer can tell you what is needed.

A bartender makes and serves drinks and looks after guests at the bar. A barback supports the bartenders by restocking, bringing ice and glassware, changing kegs and cleaning. Barbacking is a common first step towards bartending.
